Christopher Emmanuel "Chris" Paul (born May 6, 1985) is the American professional basketball player of the La Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Standing around 6 ft 0 in (1.83 m) and weighing 175 lb (79 kg), he has started exclusively for the position of point guard. Paul has received the NBA Rookie of the Year Medal, an Olympic gold medal, and led a National basketball association on assists three times and steals six times. He's got already been selected to 7 NBA All-Star teams, six All-NBA teams, and 6 All-Defensive teams.
Paul has been a McDonald's All-American in high school. He was chosen fourth all round in the 2005 NBA draft with the New Orleans Hornets and traded to the Clippers in 2011.
At December 8, 2011, the Hornets agreed to a three-team trade transferring Paul for the Los Angeles Lakers. A NBA, who owned the team at the time, nullified the offer, with commissioner David Stern claiming New Orleans would be better off keeping Paul.The clubs taking part in the deal in attempted to negotiate the league to change its ruling and reconstruct the offer does not help.On December 12, the Hornets agreed to a trade sending Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers, nonetheless the deal broke down after the NBA added further needs to the original terms. 2 days further, the teams now formed the deal, transferring Paul and 2 future second round draft picks to the Clippers for Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu, and the Minnesota Timberwolves' unprotected first round pick within the 2012 draft. Upon the deal's conclusion, Paul announced which he would opt into the final season of his contract and remain in Los Angeles for at least two more seasons.
